Title
Awl
Description
English: Flint awl, sub-rectangular in plan, sub-triangular in profile and section. On the dorsal face, the distal end and left margin have a series of denticulations. The far right of the distal end and upper right margin forms a point which has been created by retouch on either side. The medial section of the right margin is sharp but unretouched. The proximal end is truncated. The flint is dark grey. There is no cortex, so it is classed as tertiary.

Bond (2004) shows an awl that is similar on page 143, Figure 5.129, Number F156.
