Title
Awl
Description
English: Chert awl, trapezoidal in plan, convex-concave in profile and section. There is a point at the distal end. On the dorsal face a notch can be seen to the right of this point between it and another, smaller, point, or spur. It is truncated on the lower right margin. There is semi-abrupt retouch (and a slight notch) along the upper left margin. The chert is translucent cream with brown staining and there is no cortex.

Bond (2004) shows a smaller awl, of flint, on page 135, Figure 5.121, Number 58.
