La miniature représente deux évènements : Romulus et Remus allaités par une louve sur le bord du Tibère, et Faustulus levant les bras en signe de surprise; plus loin, Faustulus remet Romulus et Rémus à Laurantia. Début du livre 1 de Romuléon. Observer les reflets dans l’eau des bâtiments et des troncs d’arbres. Sur le f. 32, on voit les armoiries des rois d’Angleterre avec la devise 'Honny soit qui mal y pense' surmontées d’un haume couronné et portant un lion. Les armoiries diffèrent légèrement pour les fils d’Édouard, le prince de Galles et le duc de York; le badge portant une rose-en-soleil blanche avec la devise « Dieu est mon droit » est visible sur le bord droit.
