Description
Français : Jusqu’au 15e siècle, les livres, ou « manuscrits », sont entièrement reproduits à la main par des copistes. Entre 1430 et 1450, Gutenberg met au point la technique révolutionnaire de l’imprimerie, qui permet de reproduire mécaniquement les textes au moyen de caractères mobiles en métal. En 1772, soit plus de trois siècles plus tard, L'Encyclopédie de Diderot et D’Alembert présente les étapes de fabrication du livre au siècle des Lumières, bien avant son industrialisation au 19e siècle.
