Notes NZ RSA badge belonged to Gordon William Alexander MUIR, served - 2 NZEF, and New Zealand Scottish Regiment (1907-1990) Gordon Muir was born in Woodville (father Scottish), and worked as a caneworker - doing wickerwork. He married in the late 1920s - his first daughter Jacqueline (donor) was born 1931; second daughter born 1945. GW Muir liked army life and joined up, first with Territorials and then with regular army prior to WW2. At the time he lived with his family at Petone. WW2 - went to Middle East with 1st Echelon. Was invalided back to NZ - joined up with 1st NZ Scottish Regiment (J Davey not absolutely sure if this was before of after Middle East service); and then to Pacific as part of 3rd Division. He remained in the army until c.1948 and on leaving army got a rehab. loan and with a friend set up a wickerwork business in Wellington. Maintained involvement with NZ Scottish Regiment (and-or Regtl Assn) until his death in 1990. Family has his WW2 medals (39-45 Star, Africa Star, Pacific Star, Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-45, and NZ Service Medal, and also KEV badge and booklet) (RYoung - information from daughter (Jacqueline Davey), 10-10-2002)
