Italiano: Ritratto formale, legato ad esigenze di rappresentanza dell'Infante di Spagna Don Filippo di Borbone.
Il ritratto dell'Infante, duca di Parma dal 1749 al 1765 sarebbe replica dell'esemplare di proprietà dell'ordine costantiniano di Parma, in deposito presso la Galleria Nazionale, riconosciuto come copia di G. Baldrighi attorno al 1758 da parte di Cirillo-Godi (1987). L'originale conferma infatti l'immagine del duca riprodotta nel celebre dipinto con la famiglia Borbone della Galleria Nazionale di Parma, dove l'ufficialità lasciava il posto a un più gustoso interno di famiglia. La risoluzione formale, che richiama i modelli dello state portrait applicato ad esigenze di rappresentanza, indica come questa replica, destinata a figurare in qualche ambiente ducale, dovesse uscire dalla bottega del pittore ufficiale di corte, quale fu il Baldrighi a partire dal 1758. Anche la cornice settecentesca coeva contribuisce a datare il dipinto dopo il ritorno del Baldrighi da Parigi e comunque non oltre il 1765, anno della scomparsa del Duca. |
