Description
English: CWI - Herald Island and Whenuapai Country Women's Institute banner comprises- banner with draw string case and two badges (service badge and membership badge) rectangular banner with curved lower edge, the reverse of (vilene), the front of cream coloured linen, wooden dowel inserted at the top in a sleeve for hanging on an attached cream cord. The lower edge with cream and silver fringing, with a painted design to the front featuring the words `HERALD ISLAND AND WHENUAPAI - CWI' and an image of a `herald' resplendent in black trousers and orange coat, blowing a horn from which is suspended a banner decorated with the CWI emblem (monogram initials CWI with rose, maple leaf and silver fern and motto in band above and below FOR HOME - AND COUNTRY). Also painted with an image of a green hilly island in a blue sea (Herald Island) BADGES- .2- Cylindrical bag made to hold banner; floral printed (linen) coarsely woven in brown-beige-moss colours with drawstring action at one end. .3- CWI service badge- CWI enamelled badge(see .4 below) suspended from bar with words- GOOD SERVICE .4- CWI membership badge- brass and enamel badge- oval with monogram initials CWI at centre and floral emblems rose, silver fern and maple leaf, CWI motto in band above and below- FOR HOME - AND COUNTRY
