Summary[edit]

Description

Fish taxonomist Jeffrey Williams, Ph.D., who is in charge of the Smithsonian’s Division of Fisheries, holds one of the more than 975,000 fish stored at the facility. FDA scientists are working with Smithsonian experts in a massive project to identify fish species and create a bar code for each in order to prevent fraud in fish sales.
