Description

A barragem da Apartadura localiza-se no concelho de Marvão, distrito de Portalegre, pertencendo à bacia hidrográfica do Tejo e situada em pleno coração do Parque Natural da Serra de São Mamede. É uma barragem de enrocamento com cortina a montante. A bacia hidrográfica tem uma área de 8,4 km2. A albufeira teve a sua fase de projecto concluída em 1983, tendo a sua construção ficado terminada em 1993.

A barragem é servida pela estrada nacional . A água ali retida serve de abastecimento a diversas localidades, nomeadamente a cidade de Portalegre. A zona envolvente é predominantemente mato de difícil acesso.
