Nederlands: Winst wordt in de zorg op het persoonlijke niveau gezien als een bedreiging voor de solidariteit, maar zorginstellingen moeten zakelijke, financiële deals kunnen sluiten voor grote investeringen en dat lijkt niet goed samen te gaan stelt Bart Berden, bijzonder hoogleraar TIAS en voorzitter Raad van Bestuur Elisabeth - Twee Steden Ziekenhuis.

Banken zijn meer terughoudend in het aangaan van risico's bij de financiering van delen van zorginstellingen met als gevolg het moeilijker rond krijgen van financieringen. Met Louis Houwen en Stan Stevens schreef Berden het boek "Financiering van zorginstellingen", directe aanleiding is het wetsvoorstel Privaat Kapitaal wat nu wacht op behandeling in de Eerste Kamer.

Dit wetsvoorstel krijgt politieke tegenwind omdat het gevoel heerst dat winst in de zorg ten koste gaat van solidariteit terwijl zorginstellingen net als elk ander bedrijf grote investeringen moeten kunnen financieren door derden.
