For this shot I set the tripod partially on the curb and part on street in order to try get an 'imposing' look for court house. I think it came out ok. Let me know what you think, OK? I just learned today that this photo won the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Phot Contest! Check it out and *Friend* the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development at: <a href="http://www.facebook.com/gbcoc" rel="nofollow">www.facebook.com/gbcoc</a> !! After an entire day of doing laundry I wanted to do something different. So at about 9PM (CDT = 2AM GMT) I grabbed my camera and tripod and headed to downtown Great Bend. Since Great Bend really isn’t that big it didn’t take me long to either get there or decide what to shoot. I concentrated on the court house building, a statue commemorating the Barton County citizens that fought in the American Civil War, and the fountain pool. Because it was dark I switched over to manual exposure controls and proceeded to spend the rest of my time there fighting ‘Color Balance.’ I had never really had to deal with it before, having doing all my shooting in the daytime and/or out in the country away from city lights (or any lighting for that matter). This was something new for me and this and the other pictures are the first in my attempts (there will be more).
