Description

USGS hosted a Congressional Briefing after the Signature event. People heard from farmers, scientists, and land managers working on the front lines about the risks bats face as well as the many ways that bats help to naturally grow the agricultural economy.

The panel consisted of: Congressman Glenn Thompson (R-5-PA); Colleen Madrid, USFS Deputy Director of Watershed, Fish, Wildlife, Air & Rare Plants; Paul Cryan, USGS Research Biologist; Jeremy Coleman, USFWS National White-Nose Syndrome Coordinator; Greg Turner, Pennsylvania Game Commission Wildlife biologist; John Byrd, King’s Crossing Organic Pecan Farm; and Rob Mies, Organization for Bat Conservation Executive Director.
