Omschrijving: Pegasus is in steigerende houding weergegeven, heeft het hoofd iets naar links, spitst de oren en opent de mond. Het paard rust onder de borst op de in een punt toelopende wolkenmassa, waartegen de omlaagvallende Bellerophon is geplaatst met beide armen omlaag; het hoofd gaat geheel, het rechter been voor een deel in de wolken schuil, de tenen van het linkerbeen, dat gebogen is, raken de knie van het gevleugelde paard.
