| Description |
Deutsch: Das "Humboldt-Carré" in der Behrenstraße 42-45, Ecke Charlottenstraße (links), in Berlin-Mitte, ehemals zum Komplex der Disconto-Gesellschaft gehörend ("Bauteil I"). Weitere erhaltene Bauteile des Disconto-Komplexes ("Bauteile II & III") befinden sich an Charlottenstraße und Unter den Linden. Der Kern des Gebäudes wurde 1900-1901 nach einem Entwurf von Ludwig Heim errichtet. Die Architekten Bielenberg & Moser führten 1909-1912 eine Erweiterung und 1921-1925 eine Aufstockung durch. Mit Fusion der Banken kam der gesamte Komplex in den Besitz der Deutschen Bank. 1934 wurde der Bauteil I vom Deutschen Reich übernommen und war danach Hauptsitz des Reichswirtschaftsministeriums. In der DDR-Zeit wurde das Gebäude unter anderem vom Ministerium für Bauwesen genutzt. Nach 1990 residierten hier Abteilungen der Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung. 2005 übernahm die BonnVisio GmbH & Co. KG das Gebäude und baute es 2007-2008 nach Plänen des Architekten Karl-Heinz Schommer zum Bürohaus "Humboldt-Carree" um. Dabei wurde es um zwei gläserne Staffelgeschosse aufgestockt. Als Teil des Bauensembles Unter den Linden ist das Gebäude denkmalgeschützt. |
