Description
Deutsch: Geschäfts- und Bürohaus in der Jägerstraße 58 in Berlin-Mitte, gelegen am Gendarmenmarkt. Es entstand vor 1865 als Wohnhaus und wurde 1912 von Architekt Otto Rudolf Salvisberg zum Ballhaus "Bal Tabarin" umgebaut. Nach Kriegsschäden erfolgte eine vereinfachte Wiederherstellung. Das heutige Aussehen des Hauses geht auf einem Umbau nach 1985 zurück. Als Bestandteil des Bauensembles Gendarmenmarkt/Hausvogteiplatz ist es denkmalgeschützt.
English: Commercial and office building at Jägerstraße No. 58 in Berlin-Mitte, located at Gendarmenmarkt. It was constructed before 1865 as a residential building. In 1912, the building was altered by the architect Otto Rudolf Salvisberg to become the location of the ballroom "Bal Tabarin". The building was damaged in WWII and later reconstructed in simplified fashion. Its current outlook goes back to a renovation after 1985. It is part of the protected historic buildings area Gendarmenmarkt/Hausvogteiplatz.
