Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Viktoriahof at Köpenicker Straße No. 126-126A in Berlin-Mitte, built 1909 to 1910 by the architect Kurt Berndt for the "Suitcase and Travel Equipment Manufacturer" Emil Trebesius; it is a typical example of a small businesses building with floor factories in Berlin. The complex has three inner yards (originally four), but only the front building and the first yard have survived in their original outlook. The street facade is covered with limestone and designed in the contemporary style of Neo-Classicism, showing only modest Art Nouveau ornaments. The facade of a side wing at the inner yard has white tile bricks, interspersed with red-brown elements for decorative purposes. The building was renovated from 1992 to 1993 and received an attic at that time. Several textile and metal factories were once located in this building; it is now mainly used by small service companies. The building has been designated as a historic landmark.
