Deutsch: Der "Krausenhof" in der Krausenstraße 38-39 in Berlin-Mitte, hier die Fassade am ehemaligen Dönhoffplatz. Der große Komplex mit einem weiteren Vorderhaus an der parallel verlaufenden Schützenstraße (Nr. 40-45) mit ähnlichem Fassadenaufbau entstand 1911 nach einem Entwurf der Architekten Hermann Dernburg und Albert Bohm. Das Gebäude war gemäß vieler Geschäftshäuser der Zeit variabel nutzbar für Läden, Büros, Produktionsstätten oder Lager. Die Fassade ist traditionell und zeigt eine typische zweigeschossige Bogenstellung aus rustiziertem Sandstein, hier mit den Köpfen historischer Kaufleute auf den Schlusssteinen. Nach schweren Schäden im Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde um 1950 die Sandversteinverkleidung der oberen Etagen durch Putz ersetzt, das Gebäude um ein Stockwerk aufgestockt und das Innere komplett verändert. Zunächst saßen hauptsächlich Textilfirmen in dem Gebäude, später die für das Viertel um Schützenstraße und Zimmerstraße typischen Presseunternehmen. Seit Mitte der 1920er-Jahre gehörte das Gebäude dem Unternehmer Alfred Hugenberg, dessen Universum Film AG (Ufa) es als Hauptverwaltung nutzte. Später war das Gebäude kurzzeitig Sitz der Hauptverwaltung der DEFA, danach der Akademie der Landwirtschaftswissenschaften der DDR. Zwischen 1996 und 2003 saß hier das Landesdenkmalamt. Das Gebäude ist als Baudenkmal gelistet. |
