Deutsch: Geschäftshaus in der Taubenstraße 26 in Berlin-Mitte, erbaut 1910 vom Architekten Max Reichhelm. Das Haus mit Eisenskelett-Konstruktion besitzt eine repräsentative, neoklassizistische Fassade aus Muschelkalkstein mit hohen Pilastern und großen Fensterflächen. Der bauplastische Schmuck umfasst zwei Konsolen-Skulpturen (Merkur und Allegorie des Fleißes) und Kupferreliefs mit einem Segel- bzw. einem Dampfschiff. Das 1994-1995 restaurierte Gebäude wird heute als Bürohaus mit Gaststätte genutzt. Es ist als Baudenkmal ausgewiesen.
English: Commercial building at Taubenstraße No. 26 in Berlin-Mitte, built 1910 by architect Max Reichhelm. The structure is characterized by its iron framework and the representative limestone facade with huge pilasters in the Neoclassicism style and large windows. Ornaments include two sculptures on corbels (Mercury and Allegory of Industry) and two copper reliefs, showing a sailing vessel and a steamship respectively. The building was renovated from 1994 to 1995 and is now used as office building with a restaurant. It has been designated as a historic landmark. |
