Summary

[edit]
Description

c/n 75-5887 Built in 1944 with the US military serial 42-17724 and was initially based at Moton Field in Tuskegee, Alabama. She is one of very few surviving aircraft to have actually been flown by the famous Tuskegee Airmen, America’s first African-American military pilots. For this reason, she has since been installed in the National Museum of African American History and Culture, but is seen here while on temporary display in the Steven F. Udvar Hazy Center.
