| Description |
The earliest part of the church dates from the thirteenth century, being the north wall of the chancel. The church was begun in the fourteenth century and the tower dates from around 1500. The exterior of the nave and tower are embattled with crocketted pinnacles. There are three bells. The thirteenth century tower arch leads into the aisleless nave. There is no chancel arch, but there is a Rood which was installed in 1935. On the north side there is an octagonal oak pulpit given in 1866, with sixteenth century Flemish relief panels. The tub font is Norman with arcades and intersecting arches. It is considered to be a fine example. In 1866 the church was restored by Ewan Christian, and the porch was rebuilt. The church was refurbished in 2009 and again in 2013. |
