Description
English: Post Medieval copper alloy book clasp, very large example with broad hook, double ring-and-dot in centre and triple-notched splayed end (corners missing), 90 x (reconstructed) 34mm. Pierced by three copper alloy rivets, one at hooked end retains fragment of back-plate on reverse, two with copper alloy rivets through engraved feathered decoration at splayed end which is also pierced by transverse line of three larger perforations. 17th century.
