Description
English: Bow view of the U.S. Navy missile test ship USS Norton Sound (AVM-1) off the San Francisco Naval Shipyard, California (USA), on 2 July 1956, following a regular overhaul.
The ship is equipped with an early SPQ-5 missile guidance radar amidships and the earlier Mark 25 Mod. 6, left. SPS-6 radar is fitted on the masttop, SPQ-2 is fitted on a seperate mast, aft.
