The springhouse, partially obscured by a thick tree, has a wood shingle roof.

Brinegar Cabin - Doughton Park. The springhouse consists of two rooms under a wood shingle roof. The northern room has flagstone flooring and a spring basin, and the southern room has an earthen floor and the milk trough. The wood shingle roof was replaced in 2004. Together, the buildings illustrate the vernacular architecture of nineteenth-century Appalachia.
