Summary[edit]
DescriptionBruce Blakeman 2022 (cropped).jpg |
English: GLEN COVE, NY - Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, joined Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and local Ukrainian Americans in Glen Cove to call on President Biden to shut down the Russian-owned Killenworth Estate, which has housed Russia’s diplomats on Long Island for more than 70 years.
“The United States cannot let the people doing Vladimir Putin's bidding to live in tax-free compounds in our communities on Long Island,” said Congressman Zeldin.“President Biden should immediately close the Killenworth Estate and send Russia's diplomats packing!” In 2016, President Obama took similar action by closing the Russian-owned Brookville mansion in Upper Brookville, NY, and expelled the diplomats being housed there from the United States. |
