Wenn man vom Breslauer Hauptbahnhof aus die Taschenstrasse entlang bis zum Stadtgraben ging, kam man zur Liebichshöhe, einem Wahrzeichen der Stadt. Sie wurde 1867 erbaut. Auf der Kuppel des Aussichtsturmes stand, weithin sichtbar, die Figur der Siegesgöttin, die Viktoria von Rauch. Die Liebichshöhe war eine bekannte Gaststätte im Herzen von Breslau mit dem weiten Blick ins blühende schlesische Land, mit ihren schattigen Plätzen im Sommer, mit den Konzerten bei festlichen Veranstaltungen, im Winter mit dem Blick auf das frohe Treiben der Eisbahn (Stadtgraben). All das gehört der Vergangenheit an. In den Festungskämpfen 1945 wurde die "Liebichshöhe" völlig zerstört. |
