For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild-Biscan Str-Bod. 10.2.1954 Winterkälte kann den Aufbau von Magdeburg nicht unterbrechen Die winterliche Kälte im Januar konnte die Verwirklichung des Nationalen Aufbauprogramms in Magdeburg nicht unterbrechen. Die Arbeiten an den grossen Wohnbauten der Ost-West-Strasse, zu denen der Stellvertreter des Ministerpräsidenten Walter Ulbricht im Mai 1953 den Grundstein gelegt hat, gehen mit unvermindertem Tempo weiter. Wo sich noch vor kurzem Trümmerfelder erstreckten, wachsen jetzt fünf- und sechsstöckige Häuser empor. UBz, Die Ullrichskirche und ihre Umgebung heute, neben der Ruine der Ullrichskirche wachsen die Gebäude der neu entstehenden Ost-West-Strasse empor. (Vergl. Bild 1). |
