In Dresden wurde am 8.4.1954 der Grundstein für die Hochschule für Verkehrswesen gelegt. In mehreren Bauabschnitten soll bis 1957 diese neue Hochschule für 2 500 Studenten bezugsfertig sein.

UBz: Der Minister für Eisenbahnwesen der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik, Roman Chwalek, bei der Grundsteinlegung, (links davon) Nationalpreisträger Professor Paulick, der den Entwurf für die neue Hochschule anfertigte.
