For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Gerschwitz, Einzelbauer bei der Ernte Zentralbild Richter Wjt-Qu-5.10.1956 Einzelbauer Herbert Michel baute 6, 58 ha Mais als Grünfutter an (Gerschwitz-Krs.Gera-Land)-In der Gemeinde Gerschwitz-Krs. Gera-Land wird viel Mail als Grünfutter angebaut. Während der Maisfütterung hat der Einzelbauer Herbert Lichel besonders gute Milchleistungen bei seinen Kühen festgestellt. Er zerkleinert aber auch den jungen Mais auf dem Futterzerreisser und gibt ihn den Schweinen, wovon er sich gute Fleischergebnisse verspricht. UBz: Bei der Ernte strahlt Einzelbauer Michel: "Das ist ein gutes Grünfutter für meine Kühe, wir haben während der Maisfütterung besonders gute Leistungen."
