For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Friedensfahrt, Eröffnung, Rodoni Zentralbild Wendorf 2.5.1960 Telefoto - XIII. Internationale Friedensfahrt gestartet. Am ehrwürdigen Altstädter Ring in Prag wurde am 2.5.1960 vormittag 10.44 Uhr in Anwesenheit des UCI-Präsidenten Rodoni (Italien) und Tausender Zuschauer durch den DDR-Botschafter in der CSR, Georg Stibi, der Ehrenstart zur XIII. Internationalen Friedensfahrt Prag - Warschau - Berlin über 2 268 km freigegeben. 119 Fahrer aus 20 Ländern nahmen anschließend bei kühlem und windigem Wetter nach Aufhebung der Neutralisation an der Stadtgrenze das Rennen auf der ersten und mit 220 km zugleich längsten Etappe von Prag nach Brno auf. UBz: Der Präsident des Internationalen Radsport-Verbandes, Rodoni, spricht zur Verabschiedung der Fahrer.
