For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Friedensfahrt, Chemnitz, Fahrerehrung, Petrow Zentralbild 12.5.1961 XIV. Internationale Friedensfahrt Warschau -Berlin Prag 1961. Mit einem dreifachen Hoch wurden am 12.5.1961 die sowjetischen Friedensfahrer am Ruhetag in Karl-Marx-Stadt im Kulturpalast der Werktätigen empfangen. Über 1000 Karl-Marx-Städter hatten sich eingefunden, um das sowjetische Team, das einer Einladung der SDAG Wismut gefolgt war, mit geradezu überschwenglichen Jubel zu empfangen. UBz: Der mit dem Orden "Banner der Arbeit" ausgezeichnete Bergmann Walter Pilz von der SDAG Wismut im freundschaftlichen Gespräch mit dem sowjetischen Fahrer Petrow (rechts).
