ADN-ZB Link 25.11.1981 Bezirk Magdeburg: Schutz der Großtrappe - Bei der künstlichen Aufzucht des schwersten flugfähigen Landvogels der Erde, der Großtrappe, haben sich die Mitarbeiter der Biologischen Station in Steckby des Instituts für Landschaftsforschung und Naturschutz der AdL Verdienste erworben. Seit 1973 wurden hier gestörte Gelege von Großtrappen erbrütet, 190 Großtrappen aufgezogen und wieder in Freiheit entlassen. Der vom Aussterben bedrohte Großvogel zählt heute in der DDR etwa 500 Exemplare auch dank der Bemühungen ehrenamtlicher Naturschutzhelfer. Die Großtrappe ist eine in der ganzen Welt geschützte Vogelart. Beim Internationalen Rat für Vogelschutz wurde eine Arbeitsgruppe Trappen gebildet. An den regelmäßig stattfindenden RGW-Trappen-Symposien beteiligt sich die Akademie der Landwirtschaftswissenschaften der DDR. |
