Notes

"Engraved copper plate of Samuel Vaile's visiting or business card, together with an example of the card which reads- "Samuel Vaile - Auckland" Samuel Vaile, was a successful Auckland merchant and land agent who had emigrated to New Zealand in 1843. In Auckland he set up a successful real estate business later run by his son, Edward Earle Vaile. The firm still operates in 2010 as Samuel Vaile First National.
