Description
English: Cast copper alloy button dating to the 18th century. The button is from the Westminster fire office from the uniform of the insurance office. The front has a portcullis (arms of westminster) and feathers (prince of wales). This is one of hte larer buttons and would have been worn on the jacket (Bain & Wright: 4-5). Around the edge of the button reads 'WESTMINSTER FIRE OFFICE'
