Das Original stammt aus dem Jahr 181 und berichtet von den Bauarbeiten des Kastells. Der Name 'Commodus' wurde nachträglich heraus gemeißelt (Lücke in der 2. Zeile). Das Original befindet sich heute im Museum für Ur- und Frühgeschichte in Eichstätt, dieser Abguss im Römer und Bajuwaren Museum in Kipfenberg.
Übersetzung: 'Für Kaiser Lucius Aurelius Antoninus Augustus Commodus, dem Sieger über Armenier, Parther, Germanen und Sarmaten, als er die tribunizische Gewalt zum 6. Mal innehatte, Konsul zum 3. Mal war, dem Vater des Vaterlandes. Unter dem Statthalter und Oberbefehlshaber ('legatus Augusti pro praetore') Spicius Cerialis hat eine Abteilung der III. Italischen Legion [aus Regensburg] unter der Leitung des Centurios Julius Julinus die Umwehrung sowie die Tore mit vier Türmen errichtet. Fertiggestellt [wurden die Arbeiten] durch Aelius Fortis, Centurio der III. Italischen Legion sowie Kommandeur der I. Breukerkohorte [in Pfünz]. [Dies geschah], als der Kaiser zum 3. Mal und Burrus zum 1. Mal Konsulen waren.' |
