Description

Dübendorf, 25 August 1984.

One my personal highlights was this strange looking machine. The F+W C-3605 'Schlepp' was a target towing aircraft (hence the black and yellow stripes) operated from 1971 till 1987.

24 piston C-3603's received a Lycoming turboprop between 1971 and 1973. As the piston was much heavier than the turboprop, the conversion included an extension of the nose by 1.82 metres!

Two are still flown by civilians. C-464 was the first C-3605 and is preserved somewhere in Freienbach.
