It covers materia medica, the pulses, the channel (meridian) system, disease processes, treatment and the movement of Qi (yun qi). The book is entirely written in rhyme, for ease of memorization.This page is a ready-reference guide to the pulse images corresponding to three pairs of concepts --zangandfu; Yin and Yang; cold and hot. The text states: If Slow Pulse (chimai) is found at thecun(Inch) pulse sector of the wrist, it indicates a cold syndrome in the viscera. Rapid Pulse (shuomai) at the cun sector indicates a heat syndrome in the viscera. Cold syndromes are classed as Yin and heat syndromes as Yang. Woodcut |
