Description
English: 150929-N-QW594-069 MAYPORT, Fla. (September 29, 2015) – Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic, Rear Admiral Christopher Grady, listens as USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7)’s Commanding Officer, Captain Dana R. Gordon explains the work and maintenance being completed on the amphibious assault ship. Additionally, Rear Admiral Grady addressed the crew and presented a Safety Award after their most recent deployment. Iwo Jima recently returned from a 7-month deployment to the Mediterranean Gulf and is currently in an 11-month maintenance availability.
