A base silver contemporary copy of a silver Roman denarius of Caracalla, dating to the period AD 210-213 (Reece Period 10). MARTI PACATORI reverse type depicting Mars standing left, holding a branch and a spear and shield. Copying mint of Rome.

cf. RIC IV, Part 1, p.243, 222.

This is a very good quality copy, which may have had a silver wash to disguise the base silver beneath. No trace of the silver wash remains.
