Español: Eliseo Cantón (1861-1931) Médico cirujano, profesor y político
Fue Diputado Nacional por Tucumán y por Buenos Aires al menos durante 15 años, presidente de la cámara de diputados en cuatro oportunidades, dos veces decano de la Facultad de Medicina de Buenos Aires. Presidente de la Academia Nacional de Medicina a la que salvó de su disolución gestionando y obteniendo su autonomía, proporcionándole su edificio propio. Creador de la ley que mandó a construir la morgue judicial y el imponente edificio que hoy ocupa la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas de Buenos Aires, y de la ley que permitió la creación de la Colonia Open Doors. Actuó en la epidemia de cólera que se desató en Tucumán en 1886. Fue vicepresidente de la Comisión Sanitaria creada para asistir a las provincias de Salta y Jujuy. |
