Description

É o monumento mais antigo do concelho. A sua edificação data dos finais do século XIII. Está situada fora da vila de Arganil, perto do rio Alva numa zona de achados arqueológicos.

Teve como fundadores os donatários da terra: Fernão Rodrigues Redondo e sua mulher D. Marinha Afonso.

O edifício de construção maciça e austera divide-se em três naves com capelas absidais, sem transepto e cobertura só de madeira.

A construção é feita de blocos irregulares com predomínio de calhau grosso rolado, com excepção para os cunhais, aberturas e arcos que são de cantaria, feita na sua maior parte em arenito local.

As três naves são divididas por duas arcadas de três vãos. São arcos simples, largos e apenas chanfrados.

As portas, a principal e duas laterais, têm arcos quebrados e arestas cortadas.
