Cast copper alloy book clasp/ mount, medieval in date
Description
English: Cast copper alloy buckle plate, Medieval in date. Rectangular in plan with 2 rectangular extensions which would have curved over to attach to the buckle. The plate is bent almost in half. There are 5 circular holes in the plate, 2 at each end and one in the middle. Around the edge of the plate is a zig-zag line of gilding as further decoration.
