Title
Cast copper alloy finger ring with crowned letter D
Description
English: Large cast copper alloy finger ring dating from the medieval period, i.e. c. AD1300-1500. It may be a Yeoman's signet or seal finger ring. The hoop is circular in cross-section and plain. The bezel is of almost elongated octagonal/oval shape and engraved with an oval border enclosing a crown over the inverted initial 'D'. There is an attractive dark green/brown patina with some slight surface corrosion.
