Español: La obra representa el momento en que el pueblo madrileño contempló el cadáver de Juan de Tassis y Peralta (1582-1622), conde de Villamediana, ya que después de su asesinato sus restos fueron llevados al portal del palacio del conde de Oñate, que era la residencia de Juan de Tassis y Acuña, primer conde de Villamediana y padre del difunto. El cadáver de este último aparece en la obra siendo contemplado por su padre y por el público allí congregado, ya que a dicho lugar, según se afirmó en la época, «concurrió toda la Corte a ver la herida». |
