| Description | O Castelo de Montemo-o-Velho está situado numa colina, onde há mais de 2000 anos foi erigida uma fortificação. Enquadrando-se numa belíssima paisagem de longas e férteis planícies, junto aos campos do Mondego. Da romanização ainda subsistem silhares na base da torre de menagem. Das diversas devastações e reconstruções que este castelo sofreu podem-se identificar como dominantes as obras do século XIV, aquando da construção da barbacã que se abre em duas portas: a Porta da Peste e a Porta da Senhora do Rosário.
