Description

Erguido no século XII, o castelo de Mogadouro foi concedido em 1297 pelo rei D. Dinis à Ordem dos Templários e, alguns anos mais tarde, em 1319, passou para a Ordem de Cristo, sucessora daquela. Hoje conservam-se apenas dois panos de muralha, ligando um deles a torre a um cubelo. A torre, quadrangular e de aparelho "incertum", é acompanhada, não de muito longe, por uma outra de feição mais recente, conhecida como Torre do Relógio. Esta é feita de cantaria nos cantos e aparelho "incertum" a meio. Está dividida em três registos, o último dos quais preparado para receber sinos. Tem um remate piramidal e ostenta nos quatro cantos pináculos de granito. Apresenta-se hoje com graves fendas. Raised in century XI, the castle of Mogadouro was granted in 1297 for king D. Dinis to the Order of the Templários and, some years later, in 1319, passed to the Order of Christ, successor of that one. Today only two cloths of wall are conserved, binding the one of them tower to one cubelo. The tower, quadrangular and of device & quot; incertum& quot; , it is folloied, not of very far, for one another one of more recent feição, known as Tower of the Clock.
