Castle Wencelslas

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Castle Wencelslas
Starting from the XI century on the place where the river Pegnitz is experiencing a strong fall, the locals put water mills and founded a settlement. The Golden road linking Nuremberg and Prague passed through it. And the Town of Lauf an der Pegnitz emerged as an intermediate station on this site.

Charles the Fourth, wishing to gain a foothold in his new possessions in Bohemia built Wenceslas castle ( Wenzelschloss) in 1356 -1360 years on the island, which had a triangular shape.

Since summer 2014, the castle is available for weddings..
Deutsch: Schloss Wenzelschloss
