Nederlands: Objectgegevens Titel: Cementen beeld ‘de steenhouwer’ of ‘de bouwmeester van de Groote Kerk / Sint Laurens’ Beschrijving: Beeld van middeleeuwse, voorover leunende, steenhouwer, die met zijn voet op zijn werkstuk staat. In de handen een werktekening. Herkomst: Deel van groep van vier beeldjes, ontworpen in klei en gegoten in cement. Waren symbool voor ondergang en wederopbouw van de stad en gemaakt voor de noodwinkelgalerij voor het Postkantoor aan De Coolsingel, geopend in oktober 1940. Aan de noordzijde van de vleugel langs het postkantoor de metselaar en steenhouwer als tegenhanger van de architect aan de zuidzijde. De figuren stonden aan de kopse kanten op losse sokkels; zij werden in 1955 en 1969 verwijderd.
