Description
English: Watercolor painting depicting men of the Central Fire Company trying to extinguish a fire in the building across the street, an event that occurred on Feb. 2, 1856. The burning building--housing a tailor shop, barber shop and doctor's office--was on Chestnut Street across from the fire company's second fire house south of 4th Street.
