Summary[edit]

Description Central scene from a typical hypocephalus: a seated god with four rams' heads (equated with Banebdjedet, Khnum-Re and/or Atum-Re) crowned with variously either an atef, a hemhem crown or a sun disc, holding one or two djed-ankh-was staves, and flanked by two snakes and two or four standing ape figures.
Date
Source Own work for scene composition and for modifications made to elements. Paths for elements variously traced or taken, with or without modification, from File:Illustration_from_Pantheon_Egyptien_by_Leon_Jean_Joseph_Dubois,_digitally_enhanced_by_rawpixel-com_82.jpg, File:Khnum.svg, File:Khonsu.svg, File:Khonsu_as_falcon.svg, File:Re-Horakhty.svg, File:Tot,_Egyptian_God.svg and File:Wadjet_as_cobra.svg.

Scene is a composite of versions shown in File:BritishMuseumHypocephalusofNeshorpakheredEA36188.jpg, File:Hypocephalus of Tasheritkhons (c. 305–30 BCE), British Museum, London - 20080821.jpg, File:Tanetirt Khnum-Atum.jpg and [1], although those sources were referenced, not traced. A detailed throned figure is included rather than those simple, very abstract seated forms.
