La capilla de San Antonio de Padua es la construcción más significativa; fue edificada en el último tercio del siglo XVIII. El sistema constructivo de la fachada del templo es a base de piedra. Contiguo al templo se localiza la Casa Grande, cuyo acceso principal tiene un cuerpo de dos niveles, hecha a base de muros de adobe, con excepción del acceso principal y los enmarcamientos que se fabricaron con cantera. Por estos últimos elementos, fue posible la reconstrucción de los elementos que conformaban el conjunto de la ex hacienda. El asentamiento donde se desplanta el inmueble, formó parte de la Hacienda de San Antonio de Juana Guerra. Tierras mercedadas por el Cabildo de Nombre de Dios a dos personas: Juana Guerra, que perteneció a una rica familia de Guadalajara y a Domingo Rodríguez, el 28 de junio de 1586. Durante el siglo XVII, la estancia pasa por varios propietarios, hasta que el 17 de junio de 1721 es cedida a Antonio Páez de Guzmán, dándole a la hacienda el nombre actual: San Antonio de Padua. Posteriormente en 1906 la finca fue vendida a su último dueño: Jaime Gurza, hasta que en 1928, es adjudicada al banco Internacional Hipotecario de México |
